Come join us for a lively roundtable discussion! Retirement plan design for law firms and other professional organizations has undergone significant change in the last several years. This roundtable discussion will focus on marketplace trends, including the shift to “market-rate” cash balance designs, increased pressure to provide distributions to younger partners, increased focus on IRS benefit limits, interest in partial and full plan terminations and replacement plans, and more. Whether you work at a law firm, advise professional organizations or work with retirement plans in general, this program is for you.
William D. Berry, Senior Counsel at Orrick, and Andrew Ferguson, a Principal at Altman & Cronin, will lead our discussion.
William D. Berry has a broad practice in the area of employee benefits, including qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation and welfare benefits. He also has substantial experience with the employee benefit aspects of sales and acquisitions of businesses (including bankruptcy transactions), the restructuring of defined benefit pension plans, the defense of ERISA class action litigation, and public pension plan matters.
Andrew Ferguson is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. Prior to joining Altman & Cronin, Andrew had over 10 years of experience with WF Corroon and Watson Wyatt. Andrew has extensive expertise in the design and administration of retirement plans, including a specialty in retirement programs sponsored by partnerships.
Alison Wright from Baker & McKenzie LLP will moderate.
