Come join us for a lively roundtable discussion! The IRS has issued final “hybrid plan” regulations covering both cash balance and pension-equity plans. We'll explore what these regulations mean for pre-existing cash balance and pension-equity plans, as well as for new plan designs. Our discussion will focus on broad-based hybrid plans, as well as cash balance plans for professional firms. IRS relief for non-conforming plans will also be addressed. Jennifer Ross Berrian, Associate Partner at Aon Hewitt, and Andrew Ferguson, a Principal at Altman & Cronin, will lead our discussion. Jennifer Ross Berrian is a Legal Consultant at Aon Hewitt, She has over 19 years of experience as an attorney, 14 of those focused on assisting clients with their employee benefit programs. She assists her clients with all aspects of their employee benefits programs including their defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and health and welfare plans. Jennifer’s advice spans the spectrum from initial design planning, drafting plans, amendments, summary plan descriptions, board resolutions and employee communications, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, correcting errors in plan administration, to freezing and terminating plans. She is a trusted advisor to many clients. Andrew Ferguson is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. Prior to joining Altman & Cronin, Andrew had over 10 years of experience with WF Corroon and Watson Wyatt. Andrew has extensive expertise in the design and administration of retirement plans, including a specialty in retirement programs sponsored by partnerships. Alison Wright from Hanson Bridgett LLP will moderate.
