PROGRAM OUTLINE:
Year-End Wrap Up of Hot Topics! The Latest on the Fiduciary Rule and Tax Reform
Join us for the latest – and possibly New Year predictions – on two hot topics.
The panel first will discuss the final Fiduciary Rule.
Robert Gower, Director, at Trucker Huss will speak about current updates to the fiduciary rules, including current enforcement standards, phased compliance, the future of the rules and the weakened Best Interest Contract Exemption.
David M. Halseth, Chief Investment Officer, Strategies Capital Management, will speak about best practices his firm uses in complying with the fiduciary rules.
This discussion is meant to be a practical discussion of the rule, its current status and application and how an investment advisor responded.
They will be followed by a panel to discuss Pending Tax Reform.
Subject to developments, Partner Jonathan Ocker and Senior Counsel William Berry, both from Orrick, will discuss the potential impact of the most recent tax reform proposals. This item is subject to change.
Join us for this educational program that will include a festive holiday celebration, too!
