Pension Nuggets is designed to cover a wide variety of retirement plan issues by subject matter experts in the Insurance and Financial Consulting fields.  Each member of our panel will be allotted 30 minutes.  These will be “short stories” and the presentations will be fast-paced.   Please join us for this informative and timely program!

 

Topic #1:  Fiduciary Liability Insurance v. ERISA Fidelity Bonds: What's the Difference?


Presenter:
  Harpreet Ubhi, Assistant Vice President, Lockton Financial Services


This presentation will focus on Fiduciary Liability Insurance and ERISA Fidelity Bonds. The presentation will provide the basics of these policies, the differences in the policies and important coverages that plan sponsors should have in these policies.  Our presenter is Harpreet Ubhi.  Harpreet is an experienced Account Executive for Lockton’s Financial Services Practice (LFS) and Private Equity Corporate Acquisitions Practice (PECAP).  Harpreet specializes in the negotiation and placement of management and executive liability coverage for both public and private commercial accounts.


 

Topic #2:  Understanding and Selecting Index Funds   


Presenter:
  Jon Chambers, Principal, Schultz Collins Lawson Chambers, Inc.

Jon Chambers will look at analyzing and selecting indexes for retirement plan sponsors. Mr. Chambers has 28 years of retirement plan industry experience. As an investment consultant, he specializes in the analysis, design and implementation of investment programs for retirement plans, helps plan sponsors develop efficient and successful plan administrative structures, and assists plan fiduciaries in fulfilling their responsibilities and mitigating their risk. Mr. Chambers is a nationally recognized expert on 401(k) fee structures. He has met with officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), the Government Accountability Office (“GAO”) and the Department of Labor (“DOL”) to discuss proposed regulations relating to 401(k) fee disclosure, testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor on this issue.


Topic #3:
  403(b) Plans:  Challenges Facing Small & Mid-Size Non-Profits

Presenter:  Vince Rainforth, The Principal Financial Group Vice President of Tax Exempt


 

The rules surrounding retirement plans for Non-Profits Organizations have changed significantly in the past several years.  Non-profit organizations that sponsor 403(b) arrangements have concerns surrounding contract limitations, audits and the potential move to consolidating providers.  Vince Rainforth is the National Vice President of Tax Exempt at The Principal Financial Group where for the last 16 years he has been in charge of educating plan sponsors and consultants on current trends and challenges facing tax exempt organizations.  In Vince’s prior life, he was a Major League Umpire and did confirm that he has never ejected anyone from a meeting.
